1. Coffee has been aggravating my stomach lately. So I have momentarily switched to tea. I made some vanilla simple syrup to flavor my Earl Grey tea lattes and my stomach thanks me for the change. The ratio of sugar to water is 1:1 plus 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract.

2. An internet friend came to town and they love getting their steps in as much as I do. So we stepped off to the botanical garden to clock in our daily step count and then crossed over to the bandshell for some free local jazz music. I have met many of cool people from my internet connections.

3. Food shall not be wasted. I froze some leftovers in my souper cubes. I will feast on a great lunch in the near future – like fish in a delicious sauce with rice and a veggie curry of sorts. I relish in such good home cooked food.

4. The weather here in San Francisco came close to reaching the 80s. So I stepped off to the beach to watch the sun go down. It was glorious. Especially because I was with a solid bunch of friends with their creative music flowing.

I dipped my toes in the water – that will wake you up!

5. I still didn’t find eggs the last few times I have been to the grocery store.

Don’t remind me of the time I was so excited to find some at a small market. There was no price posted and the cashier was so quick to ring me up. I had already swiped my card and was locked in. Guess how much? One dozen eggs for $15!! Shake my head.

What frugal and fun things have you been up to this week?
