I started this blog just to write. Hoping it to keep it a simple place. A place to just write my thoughts and earmark my journey towards debt freedom. I’m so used to trying to make things into more. But this time I have no intention of doing that.
But keeping it simple has it’s drawbacks. The little kinks – like font sizes and palette colors – that I have no control over on free WordPress sites drive me crazy! Ha. I have no intention of upgrading or paying for the site. So I just need to live with it. Sorry if my blog theme changes here and there. One day, I will find the ONE (theme)!
Spending the weekend at the beach where the waves are outside my patio. In love.
It’s usually hard for me to wind down. Especially when my routine is interrupted. My arrival here was no exception. It took me a good 24 hours to finally get settled in. But joy, oh joy when I did. I’ve had time to read and drink wine and watch movies. I don’t have cable. Having the premium channels to enjoy for a bit has been nice.
The next day I took off scoping the area and walking almost 10,000 steps because of it. I stopped for lunch with blue corn blackened mushroom and mahi tacos. Delish especially with beer.
Then I found a spice shop. where I bought some smoked paprika, sweet paprika, zataar and cranberry crush tea (all for under $20). Listen to this blend of tea: turmeric, clove, raspberry leaf, cinnamon, black berry leaf, freeze-dried cranberries, ginger, lemongrass. I can’t wait to try that one!
I read a book on the beach, took a dip in the ocean, went back and had the most Glorious solid nap. I definitely need more naps like that!
A celebratory dinner was had in Ramen & beer. Followed by the most delicious Gelato (peanut butter for me). One of those weekends where Life Is Good. Trip is an occasion. Almost paid for in cash. But completely paid by Mid May The reservation took place before I said, “No More Credit!”.
Lodging for 2 rooms, 2 nights: 954
Celebratory dinner: 129
The next morning, I snuck out for some quiet time in the wee early morning for a delicious breakfast of eggs and toast. And a mug full of espresso. Then set off down to the beach for a morning symphony with the waves. Bliss before I go back to the daily grind.
